Play the Video for a Tour of the New Site Features

With over 105 Sage 300 ERP (formerly Sage ERP Accpac) and Sage CRM tutorial videos posted, we recognized that we needed to make the site easier to navigate.  So I’m very excited to announce that on March 1st, 2012, we re-launched the site with some updates and features designed to make your experience even better.

The new features include:

  • Categorization of the Sage 300 ERP (Sage ERP Accpac), Sage CRM and Add-On Product videos by module and/or function. This makes it much easier to find tutorials that are relevant to your topic of interest.
  • Pagination to make it easier to navigate through the many videos, and
  • iPad, iPhone and Android compatibility, so even if your device doesn’t support Flash, you can still view the tutorials!

So now that we’ve made these improvements, I have a request. If you’ve received value from our tutorials, please recommend us by clicking the Google +1 button that you’ll find on the tutorial listing pages.

And if you really like us, we’d love for you to mention us in a tweet, on Facebook or on your blog!

Make your SageCRM Notifications Stand-Out

After viewing our tutorial on Quick Notifications, a Sage CRM user from Australia inquired how we had managed to change the color of the word “Notification” to red.  After investigating, I found that we hadn’t done anything to change the color, the issue is that the Quick Notification tutorial was based on a 6.x version and in 7.1, the word “Notification” is no longer red, it’s now  dark grey.  I agree with our web visitor from Australia, that the old color was much more noticeable. So, if you would like to change the color of the Notification label in your 7.x version of Sage CRM, take a look at this short video to learn how.

Advanced Applications Reaches New Heights in the Rocky Mountains!

At Advanced Applications, we strive to stay current with the latest trends affecting our business and customers.  Our membership in the Sage Leadership Academy Alumni Association (SLAAA) helps us reach this goal.  The most recent SLAAA event was held in Estes Park, Colorado on October 3 & 4, 2011 and gave us the opportunity to spend an extra day hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. 

The photo here was taken along Trail Ridge Road at an elevation above 10,000 feet.  Scott is on the left, I’m on the right and our good friend Tony is in the middle.

You Don’t Need a Crystal Ball to Read Your Customer’s Mind – You need Sage E-Marketing

Remember the old Johnny Carson skit with the clairvoyant, Carnac The Magnificent.  Here’s a link to one of his skits on YouTube if you’re nostalgic or too young to have seen Carnac.

What if you had a marketing tool that gave you Carnac’s powers to read the minds of your prospects and customers?  Sounds too good to be true, right?  Well I thought so too, until I began using an E-Marketing system.  It’s very simple, you send out an email about your product, service, helpful tips, etc and the system reports back who opened your email and which links they clicked.

How is this mind reading?  When you see that someone has opened your email 5 times and clicked the same link 12 times over the course of three days, you should be able to tell what they’re thinking.  If you’re not on the phone with them after the third time they open your mail, then you’re missing a perfect setup to make a sale.

So where do you go for an E-Marketing system?  Look no further than SageCRM v7.1 which is now fully integrated with Sage E-Marketing.  Over the course of the next year, we’ll be focusing a number of our Tips & Tricks Tutorial Videos on the E-Marketing functions within SageCRM.

One of the initial steps in setting up an email blast is to create the email that you’re going to send.  Since it’s often the first step, we’ve made this the focus of our first Sage E-Marketing tutorial, Importing Email Templates into Sage E-Marketing.
