We developed this service in response to Accpac customer horror stories. These boiled down to 2 situations.

One - the production server, with its 5 year old tape drive finally fails. There is a set of backup tapes that have been systematically cycled. The hardware and software needed to recover data from these tapes is no longer sold. Getting past this problem, the data on the tape is not the data that the customer thought was being backed up.

Two - the customer had "1 funny invoice" that for some reason they could not post. They didn't tell their business partner. Two weeks later they couldn't post any invoice. Now they phoned. If they had only phoned earlier ... the data repair would have been inexpensive.
