Service Pack 2 of Sage CRM version 7.1 introduced some significant enhancements to the Document Attachment feature. With these enhancements, you can now upload documents using other browsers besides Internet Explorer, you can upload multiple files at the same time, you can attach multiple files to a single Task, and your system can be setup to limit the size and type of files that can be uploaded. In this tutorial, we demonstrate the document attachment enhancements.
One of the powerful features of the integration between Sage CRM and Sage 300 (Accpac) is that it allows you to generate quotes and orders to prospects without requiring that they be customers in Accounts Receivable. This feature helps you avoid cluttering up your AR with customers who have never made a purchase. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of generating a non-customer quote.
Field security in Sage CRM allows your system administrator to define how users can access the fields on a screen. For example, it’s possible to make a field invisible to some users, allow others to view the contents of the field, but not make changes, and to grant others both read and write access. In this tutorial, we take a look at this feature and run through an example to illustrate how it works.
Sage CRM provides you with a number of different field types that you can add to your screens allowing you to configure the system to meet your needs. One of the available field types is the Search Select Advanced field that allows you to search for records within an entry screen. In this tutorial, we walk through an example of adding a Search Select Advanced field to the Opportunity screen.
Sage CRM version 7.1 and above includes Sage E-Marketing, an integrated system that makes it easy to setup and track your email campaigns. In previous tutorials, we’ve shown how to create your list of recipients, import your email template and how to insert merge fields and hyperlinks for personalization and tracking. In this tutorial, we show you how to setup an E-Marketing Campaign and send an email blast.
The standard configuration for Sage CRM provides one Business and one Private email address field on Person records. Since it’s now common for people to have multiple email addresses, you may want to add more email fields to accomodate these additional addresses. In this tutorial, we show you how to create additional email fields on Person records.
Timings in Sage CRM tracks the duration of a Lead, Opportunity or Case from when the record is opened to when it’s closed. Timings also allow you to setup Service Level Agreements that take Case Duration, Business Calendars and Holidays into account. In this tutorial, we walk through setup of a Business Calendar and Holiday Set and show how these affect tracking duration.
Sage CRM has an easy to use reporting tool that lets you edit and create reports. In this tutorial, we build a report that lists our contacts along with some selected details and groups them by Territory.
The Sage CRM Interactive Dashboard is configurable by placing Gadgets on your workspace. Some of these Gadgets can be linked together for dynamic filtering. In this tutorial, we demonstrate this feature by linking Company, Opportunity and Case list gadgets. When linked, selecting a Company on the Company List Gadget filters the other gadgets by the selected company.
Once a lead has been qualified (see the Lead Management tutorial), it can be promoted or linked to a company in the main Sage CRM database and then converted into a sales opportunity. In this tutorial, we walk you through the lead conversion process.
